Sheraton San Juan, San Juan, PR
The Sheraton, San Juan, developed by Interlink of Puerto Rico and BBGM of New York, presented Hollywood Woodwork with unique design opportunities beyond the scope of a traditional hotel project. The hotel, which is located adjacent to the Convention Center, features sapele wall paneling and trim, and extensive grid, suspended curve beam and “wave” ceiling work. In addition to the 497 guest rooms, 3 ballrooms, restaurants, bars and casino, Hollywood’s team of craftsmen and artisans were called upon to create unique, lighted “screen panels” at eleven elevator lobbies as well as a monumental wall sculpture in the reception lobby. The sculpture which measures 11’ x 42’ is comprised of over 1100 pieces of driftwood suspended by clear monofilament line.Partnering directly with designers and the hotel’s owner/development team, Hollywood Woodwork delivered a visually stunning project on time and on budget.
