Meet our newest Intern

My name is Francisco J. Rodriguez I have a degree in architecture from PUCMM in Santiago, Dominican Republic. “Hollywood WoodWork” is the beginning of my passion in woodworking. As an architect and with years of previous experience I found out that my motor and what always makes me very excited is woodworking. I am very glad that this extraordinary company offered me the opportunity to keep growing as a professional in the intern program as an engineering apprentice in the drafting group.

Ana C Lizardo I have a degree in architecture from PUCMM in Santiago, Dominican Republic.

I believe in success through hard work and dedication. My favorite inspirational quote is: “If you want something, work hard and you will achieve it”.

My previous experience working as designer and drafter awakened my passion in woodworking and that led me to “Hollywood Woodwork” where they offered me all the tools to keep growing as a professional in the intern program in the summer of 2016. They gave me the position as an engineering apprentice in the drafting group. I am very excited to be a part of this dedicated and creative team who achieve their goals with passion and integrity, making them a company with extraordinary projects.

The Continuous Improvement Committee

Hollywood Woodwork is pleased announce The Continuous Improvement Committee! The CIC Group are dedicated staff members that meet weekly to discuss and improve Hollywood Woodwork. Members include: Barton Barry, Tyler Hulme, Kevin Tamkins Jr., Garth Suslovic, Russel Barry, Danny Santiago, Williams Diaz, Brian Chamberland, Deb Schlangen, Ruben Ortiz, Drake Barber, Sebastien Desmarais, Dave Bolt, Michelle Villnave, Antonio Rovira, Juan Couto, and Gil Lugo – Lean Facilitator. The team has been working hard and tracking incidents in the shop since November 2015. The data is now in and shop incidents are down by 70%! Be sure to check back as we will be posting more information on this team and their outstanding accomplishments!

Hollywood Woodwork’s Hyatt Regency Tysons Corner Project Wins Cover Story

AWI Design Solutions Magazine Released AWI Design Solutions 2016 Summer Edition is available online(Potomac Falls, Virginia – July 28, 2016) The Architectural Woodwork Institute (AWI) has released the summer 2016 edition of their official journal, Design Solutions Magazine. The publication offers in depth features and resources including a technical article and a Product Showcase.

A cornerstone article and technical article are published in each new issue of Design Solutions Magazine. This quarter’s cornerstone article is called “Green Light for Change” and discusses the changes with standards, education and industry relationships in order for AWI to remain relevant to industry and serve the membership. This issue’s technical article is called “Ahead of the Curve” and explains three simple concepts to put you ahead of the curve.

Design Professionals seeking AIA credits can rely on the AWI Speakers Bureau to fulfill their learning credits. The AWI Speakers Bureau provides the opportunity for design professionals, woodworking firms, and other industry partners to host speakers who deliver current and relevant information on the standards and practices within the architectural woodwork industry for AIA credits. AWI is the oldest registered continuing education provider of learning units for architects and design professionals.
